Our Story

Here at Destination Hope & Recovery, we’re committed to investing our expertise and resources in order to further support those in our community who are most in need. We strive to support our community members in a variety of ways through the many contracts that we have secured.

We're happy to be able to offer FCS Housing & Employment Case Management, where you will work hands on with our founder Joey Bannish, or one of our dedicated and experienced staff, in obtaining your immediate and future Housing and Employment needs. These services are offered through Amerigroup. For anyone who's insurance has lapsed, our trained Health Insurance Navigators can assist you in reactivating it so you can take full use of our services. We currently are able to offer these services in Grays Harbor, Pacific, Thurston, Mason, and Lewis Counties.

In response to the Blake Bill (SB 5476), we have been given the opportunity to hire on five specialized staff members who are hard at work implementing a new diversion program. Through collaborations with local community partners and law enforcement, we seek to give those who have a history, past or present, of interaction with the judicial system a second chance, to meet the unmet needs of our community. This program is offered through one or our contracts in both  Pacific & Grays Harbor County.

Check back with us often as we are always looking to expand what services we offer, and are currently looking to bring even more to the table for both Grays Harbor and Pacific Counties in the coming year.

WHAT WE DO

Trauma-Informed Approach

COMMITTED TO HEALING

As a team, we understand the importance of addressing trauma in individuals' lives and strive to provide a warm, supportive, and empowering environment for everyone who comes to us for help. We recognize that past traumatic experiences can have a significant impact on overall well-being, and we work to identify triggers that may lead to harmful behaviors. We provide support, resources, and guidance to help in coping with and recovering from trauma. We always approach our work with empathy and a non-judgmental attitude, to help each person we interact with feel safe and understood.

Harm Reduction

ENGAGEMENT, NOT SEPARATION

We provide harm reduction services to address substance use disorder (SUD) by focusing on reducing the negative consequences of drug use. This includes providing access to clean needles and other equipment to prevent infections, providing overdose prevention education and access to medication to reverse an overdose, offering connections to medication-assisted treatments to manage withdrawal symptoms and cravings, locations providing safe and supervised consumption sites, and counseling and other forms of therapy. In addition, we facilitate and promote access to housing and employment support, recognizing that SUD is a chronic disease that requires ongoing care.

Cultural Awareness

WE'RE BETTER TOGETHER

As a team, we recognize the importance of cultural awareness in our work. This includes understanding and respecting the cultural backgrounds and beliefs of individuals seeking treatment, such as differences in language, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, and socioeconomic status. To promote cultural awareness, we incorporate various strategies such as providing interpreter services, having a diverse staff, offering connection to culturally-tailored treatment options, providing education and training on cultural competency for staff, and encouraging family involvement and support. We understand that cultural awareness is crucial in building trust and understanding with individuals and ultimately leads to better engagement and outcomes.
